Marguerite “Marge” Nista Federico died peacefully on December 15, 2018 in Yale New Haven Hospital-St. Raphael Campus with her loving family by her side. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Dominic “Min” Federico. Marge was born in Hamden on November 22, 1929 to the late Angelo and Michelina DelGrasso Nista.

She proudly and happily worked alongside her husband helping to run Paramount Market on Whalley Avenue for many years. She loved talking to her customers and sharing some of her favorite recipes with them. Marge was a member and past president of the Notre Dame Mothers Club and the Sacred Heart Academy Mothers Club as well as a member of the Notre Dame Alumni Mothers Club.

She was also a member of the Junior Women’s League and a proud recipient of the Notre Dame Knight of Honor Award. Marge was a wonderful cook and was very dedicated to her family. She taught her children and grandchildren how important service to their community is.

Marge was the proud and loving mother of Maria (Rocco) Crocco, Dominic (Mary), Mark (Pattie) and Michael (Maura) Federico. Sister of the late Joseph and Dominic Nista. She was so proud of her grandchildren Dominic (Anna), Ryan (Nancy), Joseph, Donna (Jeremy), Christina, Maria (Michael), Melissa (Christopher), Marcella (Brian), Mark Jr. (Jinglin), Albert (Kate), Michael Jr., Marguerite (Benjamin), Michelle, Matthew, Christopher (Meghan) and Marisa (Sonny) and she adored her great grandchildren Chase, Ryker, Dominic, Mia, Madison, Gina, Michael, Michaela, Matthew, Eleanor, Henry, Amelia, James, Mark, William, Dominic and Luke.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a large extended family. Her visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8pm in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 81 Center Road Woodbridge Wednesday morning at 10am.

Please go direct to Church on Wednesday morning. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Notre Dame Loyalty and Endowment Fund 1 Notre Dame Way West Haven, CT 06516.
