Maria DePiro Co-Owner of Nutley Pet Center Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Aunt, 66 Maria (nee Alfano) DePiro, 66, of Nutley, NJ, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Saturday, September 29 at 9:30 a.m. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Lucy’s Church, Newark at 10:45 a.m. Visitation will be on Friday, September 28 from 4:00 –8:00 p.m. The cremation will be held privately. Maria was born in Newark, NJ and was a lifelong resident of Nutley.

She was co-owner with her husband Ralph of the Nutley Pet Center for 43 years. Maria was also a dispatcher for the Nutley Police Department before retiring this past August. She is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years Ralph DePiro, her devoted daughter Amanda Sarracino and her husband Stefano; her loving step-children Thomas DePiro and Donna Sien and her husband Joseph; her loving sister Pamela Alfano, and her cherished grandchildren Ralph, Thomas and Gabriele.

She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews Karen, Barry, Louis, Gregory, Gerard, Cheryl and Cindy. Maria is predeceased by her sister Angela Zappia.
