She was born on April 14, 1927 in Geronimo, TX, daughter of Felix and Ramona (Campos) Alonzo. Maria is preceded in death by her husband Porfirio Cantu and is survived by her son, Javier Cantu; daughters, Maria Del Rosario Sanchez, Olga Lydia Cabrera, and Norma Nelly Torres; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Duddlesten Funeral Home on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 27 and 28, 2018 with a rosary being recited each evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 693 N. 3rd, Raymondville, Texas on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Raymondville Memorial Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Duddlesten Funeral Home, 604 W. Hidalgo Ave. , Raymondville, Texas.
