Maria Leticia Robinson, 79, of Lander Wyoming passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at her home. A Rosary will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12th at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lander and a Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m., on Friday April 13th at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Leticia was born December 15, 1938 in Caborca, Sonora Mexico to Juan and Engracia Mendez.

Leticia grew up in Caborca and became a fourth-grade teacher. At age 22, she married her… Read More » husband of fifty-seven years, Wayne Robinson, and naturalized to the United States. They made their home in Lander, Wyoming.

After raising her four children, Leticia worked at Yellowstone State Bank in Lander. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona. While in Arizona, she worked as a paraprofessional in an elementary school, relishing in the teaching profession she enjoyed in Mexico.

Being bilingual, she was able to help many elementary students succeed. Leticia was very involved with her church, Our Lady of the Mountains. As a member of her church group, The Young at Heart, she danced and performed many shows, priding herself with making their costumes and props.

Leticia traveled with The Young at Heart to many interesting places in Arizona and New Mexico, and made two trips to Europe. Visiting Rome was a highlight because she was able to visit St. Peter’s Basilica and see the Pope. In 2013, Leticia and Wayne returned to Lander to be close to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Leticia is lovingly remembered by her husband Wayne, stepson Marvin (Pam) Tyler, children Wayne (Catherine) Robinson, Susan (George) Piplica, Irving (Carmen) Robinson, and Letty (Chip) Eckhardt. She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Alex Robinson, Nicholas Robinson, Matt Robinson, Anna Robinson, Nate Robinson, Peter Piplica, Tiffany (Sam) Hartpence, Spencer (Gabriela) Piplica, Austin Robinson, Cassandra Robinson, Xiomara Robinson, Lyssette Robinson, and Ramsey Eckhardt; Pakus Eckhardt, Shyla (Ty) Don Nicolas, Ronna (Shan) Wilson, Dusty (David) Witcher and five great-grandchildren Alden, Chase, and Mara Hartpence, and Santiago and Salvador Piplica. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Oswaldo, Gildardo, Angel, Edmundo, Godofredo and sister Anita Mendez de Ruiz.
