Maria “Mary”‘s Obituary Maria “Mary” Potyondy, age 92 of Plymouth, passed away March 25, 2019. She is preceded in death by husband, Oskar Potyondy and parents, Andreas and Katharina Waldherr. Survived by daughter, Christina Potyondy (Wayne Smith); granddaughters, Alyson Potyondy-Smith (Heather Spear) and Andrea Potyondy-Smith (R.J. Ochmann); nephews, Stephan Potyondy (Marion), John Potyndy (Edie), David Potyondy (Lianne Knych); many grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.

Maria emigrated from Hungary with her parents in 1949. She worked for Munsingwear for 23 years, leaving as a supervisor in 1973, when she and Oskar purchased a motel they ran together until their retirement. Maria was self-reliant, creative and reful.

She volunteered for many organizations including St. Therese of New Hope for 31 years, North Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph the Worker Church and numerous craft events for charity. Her sense of humor, generosity and graciousness will be greatly missed.
