Maria Medina Borrego March 19, 1927 – March 05, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Maria Medina Borrego went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the age of 91 years. She was born in Carpenter, Texas on March 19, 1927 to Crecencio and Martina Medina. Maria enjoyed gardening, embroidering, and working outdoors, especially with her chickens and birds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonardo Borrego; her parents, Crecencio and Martina Medina; and two brothers. Maria is survived by her children, Catarina Martinez (Ruben), Erminia Pena (Joe), Martina Thomas (Johnny), Mary Gutierrez, Leonard Borrego Jr., Paul Borrego, Irene Poenisch (Scott), Victor Borrego (Lisa), Esperanza Borrego, Nancy Borrego, Elvira Herrera (David); sister, Pauline Medina; brothers, Marcus Medina, James Medina (Sara); twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Heritage Oaks Mortuary on Sunday, March 10th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will depart the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, March 11th for a Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Borrego Family Cemetery.
