Obituary of Maria Canals Maria B. Canals, age 95, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Maria was born in Manicaragua, Cuba on October 11, 1923, a daughter of the late Manuel Asorey and Elena (Quiroga) Asorey. Maria was a resident of the Meadows at Shannondell and formerly lived in King of Prussia and Norristown, PA.

She was a talented musician and earned a degree in Piano Composition. Maria also loved sewing and reading. She was the beloved wife of the late Joaquin Canals, MD.

She is survived by her son, Joaquin Canals (and his wife Shelly); daughter, Elena Canals – Curtis (and her husband Mark Curtis); grandchildren, Mark Peter (and his wife Lauren), Dana and Darcy; great granddaughter, Rosalia; as well as a half sister, Carmela Gomez. Along with her husband and parents, Maria was preceded in death by her siblings. Funeral services and interment will be private.
