Obituary for Marianne E. Lindstrom TRAVERSE CITY – Marianne E. Lindstrom, age 88, of Traverse City passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Munson Hospice House in the loving care of her family. Marianne was born on December 22, 1929 in Detroit, MI to Paul and Lucy (Lewandowski) Lubinski. Marianne grew up in Detroit where she was baptized at Immaculate Conception Church.

Marianne graduated high school from the Felician Academy. She then enrolled at Madonna University where she received her bachelor’s degree then enrolled at Saginaw Valley University where she received her master’s degree, both degree’s in elementary education. On August, 13, 1957 Marianne married Marvin Wayne Lindstrom in the very same church she was baptized, Immaculate Conception Church in Detroit.

Marianne had a gift for teaching and educating students. For 8 years she taught in catholic schools, and 30 years at Roseville Elementary School as a specialist in title 1. Marianne and Wayne were both active members at St. Francis Catholic Church, as Marianne was also an active prayer chain caller.

She was an active member of MARSP, as well as GTARSP where she was the treasurer for many years. Marianne loved cross stitching, bowling, golfing, cooking, watching TV, and was an avid sports enthusiast. Above all else, Marianne dearly loved her family, and husband, Wayne.

Marianne is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wayne, her sons; Timothy (Heidi) Lindstrom, Eric (Janet) Lindstrom, and grandchildren; Katie Lindstrom, Matthew Lindstrom, and Maria Lindstrom. Marianne is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with her dear and special friend, Suzanne Konieczka. Marianne was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Helen, Angela, Teri, Henrietta, and brother Edward.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at St. Francis Catholic Church with a visitation one hour prior to mass. Father Don Geyman will be officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
