Fletcher Schmidt, 89, died on Sunday, December 23, 2018 peacefully at Westminster Health Care Center in Bradenton, Florida. Born on August 10, 1929 in Somerville, N.J., to Raymond and Felice Tanascio Fletcher and had resided in Edison, N.J. for 62 years before moving to Bradenton in 2014. Mrs. Schmidt had worked as a Lab Coordinator at Middle County College for 25 years in the Marketing, Art and Design Department before retiring in 1994.

She was a long time active member of the Stelton Baptist Church in Edison in addition to being active in school and community affairs. She was the wife of George A. Schmidt who died November 11, 2010. Her family includes her four children, Linda Jenni and her husband Hanspeter, of Switzerland; Thomas Schmidt, of Richmond, VA; Sherry Michalak and her husband Barry, of Readington, NJ, and Michelle Noval and her husband Luis, of Parrish, FL; a brother Joseph Fletcher of California; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A service will be held at the Mundy Funeral Home, 142 Dunellen Avenue, Dunellen on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10. 00 a.m. Internment will follow at Lake nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

The family requested that memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www. alz.org in lieu of flowers.
