Obituary of Marie Farris Marie J. Farris, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, July 10 in Princeton, NJ after a brief illness. Marie was born in New York, NY on July 7, 1923 to Frank and Victoria Colucci. She grew up in Brooklyn, attended public schools and graduated from Bay Ridge High School in 1941.

She always reminisced about being awarded a medal for Sewing while in high school. The family moved from Brooklyn to Kendall Park, NJ in February 1957 and lived there for 50 years, being one of the first residents in the development. Marie’s professional career included employment at White Express in Brooklyn, where she was in the Traffic and Accounting Departments, and Dow Jones Inc. of Princeton, where she was part of the Communications Team for 25 years.

A member of Kingston Presbyterian Church for nearly 60 years, Marie taught Vacation Bible School and worked with the Youth Group. Marie is predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 70 years, Edmund D. Farris Sr She is survived by her two sons, Steven Farris of Mission Viejo, CA, Edmund Farris, Jr. and his wife Susan of Flanders, NJ, as well as her brother Frank Colucci and his wife Elizabeth of Pennington, NJ.

She is also survived by her three grandchildren. A viewing for Marie will be held at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction on Friday, July 13 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A service will be held at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home on Saturday, July 14 at 10 AM, followed by burial at Kingston Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Kingston, NJ.

In lieu of flowers please make in memoriam donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
