OBITUARY Marilyn Emma Doll October 25, 1929 – August 25, 2018 Marilyn Emma Doll, age 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on August 25, 2018. Marilyn was born to Earl and Lydia Cummings in Burlington, IA. She attended Graceland College and later received her Nursing Degree from Independence Sanitarium.

Marilyn was an RN for Menorah Medical Center for 25 years. She was a lifetime member of Community of Christ Church; dedicating endless hours to their ministry. Marilyn was an anointed Teacher and she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

She was also a Den Mother for her boys, and was very proud that they all accomplished the rank of Eagle Scout. Marilyn raised thousands of dollars for the Kidney Foundation and volunteered at Community of Christ Temple in Independence, MO. She loved traveling and fell in love with Hawaii, making 8 trips there over the years.

Marilyn was a beloved follower of Jesus and lived her life serving God. Marilyn is proceeded in death by her parents, Earl and Lydia Cummings of Burlington, IA; her loving husband of 44 years, Carroll E. Doll; and precious granddaughter, Amanda Marie Doll. She is survived by her four devoted sons, John T. Doll (Anna) of Grand Prairie, TX, David Doll, James Doll (Aimee), and Paul Doll; her sister and best friend, Delores Lohmann (Herb) of Des Moines, IA; and 6 very blessed grandchildren, Megan, Andrew and Lindsey of Grand Prairie, TX, Rachel, Lucy and Jaxson; numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was loved and admired by many. She was an amazing Mom, Wife, Sister, Aunt, Grandma, Mother-in-Law and Friend. The world was a better place with her in it.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on her birthday, at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Good Shepherd Community of Christ, 4321 Blue Ridge Blvd. , KCMO. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Children’s Mercy Hospital c/o Philanthropy, 2401 Gilliam Rd.
