Marilyn Jean Helms Peters, 86, lifelong resident of Petersburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 22, 2018. She was retired Store Clerk for the former Flick’s IGA, lifelong member of Petersburg Christian Church and she enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting and tole painting. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gene Peters in 1994; son, Kimberly “Kim” Peters in 2016; parents, Elvin E. “Pat” Helms, Sr. and Emma Nixon Helms; sister, Nell Jo Tanner in 2011; and brother, Elvin E. “Rip” Helms, Jr. in 2012.

Survivors include her daughters, Kristi Peters of Petersburg and Kelly (Aaron) Gordon of Dillsboro, Indiana; sister, Patricia Hogan of Burlington; two grandsons, Daniel E. Peters and Chase A. Gordon; and three great grandchildren, Landon Hawkins, Jaycee Gordon and Kiera Peters. Visitation is Monday, November 26, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron and Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Petersburg Christian Church, 6561 Tanner Street, Petersburg. Funeral services to immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Interment at Petersburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Petersburg Christian Church, P.O. Box 69, Petersburg, KY 41080.
