Marilyn Scott Mason, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Marilyn passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Marilyn was born September 21, 1938 in Meigs County to the late Thomas and Geraldine Ables Scott.

She was a 1956 graduate of Chester High School and a 1959 graduate of the Holzer School of Nursing. Marilyn spent her entire career as a Registered Nurse. On June 5, 1960,… Read More » Marilyn married Harry Dean Mason, who survives her.

Together they have three children, Saralyn (Craig) Born of Texas, Craig Mason of Gallipolis, and Cindy (Keith) Angel of Gallipolis. Marilyn is also survived by her five grandchildren who were the light of her life: Julia Mason-Born of Utah, Cory and Cade Mason of Gallipolis, and Mason and C.J. Angel of Gallipolis. Also surviving are her brother, Paul (Shirley) Scott of Tennessee and her sisters-in-law, Peggy Sue Coulson of Bidwell and Phyllis Mason of Gallipolis, along with nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and also attended the North Conway Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice; Marilyn spent her entire life helping others, and she would like to continue in her passing. The funeral service will be at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens Chapel of Hope Mausoleum with Pastor Harold Benson officiating.
