Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Friedens Church with Pastors Sonja and Dave Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the Friedens Fellowship Hall. Marilyn was born on February 25, 1944 in Seguin, Texas to Daniel and Alma (Lenz) Muehl. Marilyn attended Leissner and McQueeney Schools and graduated from Seguin High School in 1962.
She worked at Seguin State Bank and then as a homemaker. Marilyn enjoyed bowling at Barbarossa and Zorn Bowling Clubs. It was at Barbarossa, she met Woody, and they were married on April 8, 1967.
She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, baking, word search puzzles, crossword puzzles and time with family and friends. Marilyn and Woody spent many Friday nights at the Geronimo Drive In with friends, having a few beers and enjoying each other’s company. She is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Roland “Woody” Schuenemann, her parents, brother, Daymon Muehl, brother-in-law, Clarence Schuenemann and wife Dorothy and nephew, Dennis Schuenemann.
Survivors include her son Steven Alan Schuenemann and his friend, Alexis Huddleston; sister, Beulah Reiley and husband Orville; sister-in-law, Pat Muehl; nieces, Carol Sartor and husband Jolly, and Peggy Walker; other loving family members and many friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Daggubati and the staff at Texas Oncology in New Braunfels, for their care and compassion during Marilyn’s Treatments. Also, the staff at Guadalupe Valley Nursing Center for their care in her final years, and GRMC Hospice in her final days.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Lenz, Jolly Sartor, Justin Sartor, Gary Tschoepe, Mark Koepsel and Kevin Harborth. Serving as honorary pallbearers, Orville Reiley, Jeff Harborth, Bruce Harborth, Dwayne Reiley, Kendall Harborth, Colten Magin and Darryl Rust.
