Obituary for Marilyn Sue Luckie FORT WORTH – Marilyn Sue Thrash Luckie passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018. Marilyn was born March 31, 1940, in Vernon to Frederick Edwin and Eva Jo Pybus Thrash. She was a sixth generation Texian whose family came to Texas when it was a Republic and were founders of Grandview, south of Fort Worth.

She inherited an artistic and music talent from her mother’s family. She grew-up in West Texas and graduated from Abilene High school. She attended Abilene Christian University.

She was a Member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Marilyn and Ron Luckie met in Midland when she was in the seventh grade and he was in the eighth at San Jacinto Junior High. They were married in Abilene in 1961 for 56 years.

While Ron was in Engineering School at UT Austin, they started “RonMar of Austin” Janitor Service. In 1962, they moved to Dallas where their two boys were born, Ron II and Steven Craig. She was a sales representative for Drawing Board, a greeting card company, before becoming a Mary Kay Sales Director where she won two cars.

After Mary Kay, she started her own sales rep business representing companies at the World Trade Center in Dallas. Then she became the Copy Center Manager for Decision Analyst, a market research firm, where she retired. She was a member of “The Hills Church of Christ”.

Marilyn was survived by her husband, Ron; sons, Ron and Steven Craig; grandchildren, Jacob Luckie, Samantha Luckie Phillips; great-granddaughter, Logan Ann Phillips; and sister, Windy Smith.
