Obituary of Marilyn Shiels Marilyn B. (Haag) Shiels, “Granny” age 73, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Darby, PA, died Monday, September 3, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn was born June 19, 1945 in Darby, PA, and graduated from Darby-Colwyn High School, Class of 1963. Mrs. Shiels was the Secretary of the Dean at Drexel University, Executive Assistant to Vice President at Clement Communications and Office Administrator at Grace Bible Fellowship Church as well as a devoted member.

A woman of faith, she loved to read her Bible and attended the women’s Wednesday morning Bible study. She was a prayer warrior who was devoted to her family, attending many athletic events, concerts and performances. Granny spent every Sunday afternoon with her family.

She enjoyed; playing scrabble, watching the Eagles play, reading biographies, doing handcrafts and traveling particularly to Israel. Marilyn was committed to helping others. She loved animals, participated in the Samaritan’s Purse Operations Christmas Child Shoebox Project.

Along with her husband, Sam, they took in foster children for several years, sponsored children through Compassion International, volunteered at the Delaware County Pregnancy Center and at the St. Bernardine Center. Daughter of the late Charles and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Haag; mother of the late Samuel Shiels, Jr. Survivors: Devoted Husband of 54 years: Samuel Shiels Daughters: Beth (Douglas) Yori, Robin (David) Bronkema Brother: Carl Jeff (Terry) Haag Sister: Nancy (David) Owens Daughter-in-Law: Angela Logue Grandchildren: Katherine (Nathan) Biermaas, Bradford Yori, Kimberly Yori, Kelsey Yori, Karleigh Yori, Emily Bronkema, Sam Shiels III, Jacob Bronkema, Josiah Bronkema and Kyle Radewonuk Great-Grandson: Lucas Biermaas Her beloved dog, J.P. Mosley Funeral Service at a later date will be held at Grace Bible Fellowship Church, Wallingford, PA. Private Graveside Service will be held at the Media Cemetery, Media, PA.
