Obituary for Marion Josepha Jenkins It is with great sadness that the family of Marion Lacayo Jenkins announce her passing on December 1, 2018 at the age of 90. She was born on April 18, 1928. A Navy wife, Marion met her husband Robert in San Francisco and migrated to Sweetwater with stops in several ports to support her husband during World War II.

Marion was married for 39 loving years before her husband passed away of injuries sustained during the war. They were both founding members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Athens, and Marion taught preschool at the parish for many years. Marion will be remembered as a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family.

Marion is survived by her children, Lillian, Elizabeth, Jim, and Trudy, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. A graveside service will celebrated in memory of Marion on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 1:00 P.M., with Father John Arthur Orr presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Marion may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 1291 East Madison Avenue, Athens, TN 37303 (www.
