Obituary for Marion Pollack WHITESBORO – Mrs. Marion Pollack passed away peacefully on January 1, 2019. Born in Utica on February 11, 1934, Marion was the daughter of Edward Drake and Ruth Johnson. Raised and educated locally, she was a 1952 graduate of Utica Free Academy where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Academician yearbook staff.

While attending high school, she worked for the Utica Public Library. At the age of 18, she began her life-long career with the New York Telephone Co. and retired after 40 years of service. She will be remembered for sharing her kindness and knowledge with much modesty.

From her yearbook quote: “Modesty is with you, your success, a rare gift that few possess”. On August 27, 1955, she married Joseph Pollack in St. Francis de Sales Church in Utica and shared a 49-year union until his passing on January 10, 2004. She later became a parishioner of Sacred Heart & St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, New York Mills.

She was a wonderful wife and mother with a gentle-natured spirit, graceful in her actions and thoughts, who appreciated all life had to offer. Among the many lessons our Mom consistently demonstrated in our time together was to live simply and honestly, so you may learn and live God’s purpose for your lives. Marion is survived by her daughter and best friend, Janice, of Whitesboro, and son Ken, of New Jersey; brother, Richard Drake; sister, Alice Jury; nieces and a nephew.

She was predeceased by her parents, in-laws, sister, infant brother, aunts, uncles and cousins. Mom, although you will be missed, your spirit will live on in the hearts of those who love you. Marion will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Stanislaus & Casimir Cemetery, Whitesboro.

Arrangements are under the directions of McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd. , Utica.
