Marita M. Howe, 85, longtime resident of Jaffrey, NH died on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester MA, after a period of declining health. She was born on November 14, 1932 in Buxton, ME a daughter of the late Stella Hanson Boyden and Philip Smith. Marita worked at family businesses for many years.

Marita enjoyed time spent with family, including her loving grandchildren, sitting outdoors watching birds, and being with her beloved cat. She will be sorely missed by her family. Survivors include her three sons and daughter-in-law’s, Shaun and Christine Howe of Peterborough, NH, Douglas and Amy Howe of Milford, NH, Christopher Howe and Kimberly Winter of Sandown, NH and her grandchildren; Tyler Howe and wife Melissa Howe of Bennington, NH, Ryan Howe of Peterborough, NH, Dylan Howe and wife Brendena Howe of San Diego, CA and Matthew Howe of Lisbon Falls, ME.

Brother, Fred Smith and wife Elaine Smith of Laconia, NH, Sister, Janice Edwards of Portland, ME. Late Brother, Amos Boyden III and wife Pam Boyden of Lyman, ME, Eric Boyden and wife Barbara Boyden of Lyman, ME, Stephen Boyden and wife Carol Boyden of Dade City, FL, and other nieces and nephews. SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street Jaffrey, NH 03452.
