Mark was born on June 6, 1955 in King City, California, to Esther and Howard Hudson. He grew up hunting and fishing, and he became an avid outdoorsman and gardener.

Mark worked in agribusiness for over 30 years, beginning with Spreckels Sugar Company to most recently with Syngenta Seed. He married Pamela Roney on August 28, 1972, and he graduated from King City High School in June 1973. They raised two daughters, Jennifer and Amber, as well as many hunting dogs.

Mark was passionate about outdoor activities, classic rock music, and gathering with family. He went on many hunting and fishing trips with his longtime friends. Mark and Pam enjoyed rock concerts, particularly The Rolling Stones.

Mark enjoyed family gatherings where he loved to tease and poke at his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was known for his kind and generous spirit, hunting and fishing tales, homemade venison jerky, and knack for brevity. He will be remembered for his sparkling blue eyes, big heart, and great smile.

Mark was preceded in death by his father and mother, Howard and Esther Hudson, and his great nephew, Taylor Hudson Wageneck. He is survived by his wife Pam, his two daughters and their families–Jennifer Hudson-Foskett, Joshua, Scout, and Langston Foskett of Radiant, VA; Amber Hudson Fend, Mat Fend, and Sage Deack of Cayucos, CA; and Oliver Fend of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by his siblings and in-laws–Tim and Kim Hudson of Tucson, AZ; Shari and Sam Shires of Paso Robles, CA; Deanna and Ron Shires of Fullerton, CA; Debbie Hudson of Templeton, CA; as well as several nieces, nephews, and their growing families.

A funeral service will be held at 10am on Thursday, January 10th, at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel, 429 Bassett Street in King City. In place of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mark’s favored conservation group Ducks Unlimited.
