Mark J. Wurm, age 51, of Maple Lake, died due to complications from a fall on Monday, June 11, 2018 at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as Celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery, Maple Lake. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m on Thursday and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Friday, both at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Mark Joseph Wurm was born July 28, 1966 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Roy and Ann (Dircks) Wurm. Mark grew up near Maple Lake on the family farm. He attended school in Maple Lake, where he graduated with the Class of 1984.

On December 28, 1991, Mark was united in marriage to Debbie Smith at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. Mark spent his entire life working on the family farm, where he and Debbie also raised their family. In his spare time, Mark enjoyed watching sports, especially the Vikings, playing yard games such as horseshoes and beanbags, playing card games, and keeping an eye on the weather.

Farming was not only Mark’s career, it was also his passion. There was only one thing that came before farming in Mark’s eyes, and that was his family. Whether they were camping, vacationing, or simply being in each other’s presence, Mark relished the time they were able to spend together.

Mark is survived by his wife of 26 years, Debbie, of Maple Lake; children, Heather, Holly, Hunter, and Hayden all of Maple Lake; mother, Ann (Bob) Cruikshank of Maple Lake; siblings, Lisa Potter and Todd (Krista) Wurm of Maple Lake; and many nieces, nephew, other family members, and dear friends. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Roy. Sarah Goelz and Kevin Smith will provide music for the service.

Todd Wurm, Brett Austin, Jim Smith, Steve Smith, Heather Wurm, Holly Wurm, Hunter Wurm, and Hayden Wurm will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
