She was born in Bess, Texas on January 13, 1934 to Pablo and Santas Laso. She was a restaurant cook by profession and owned El Papalote Café in George West for many years.

Her greatest joy was family time at the family ranch in Clegg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Endercio Chapa Sr; her parents, Pablo and Santos Laso; two sisters, Eugenia Tovar and Claudia Gonzalez, and eight brothers; Macedonio, Marcelino, Santos, Jose, Amado, Rogelio, San Juan and Pablo Jr She is survived by one brother, Manuel (Lupita) Laso, four children; Micaela (Rocky) Mendez, Elsa (Jose) Nunez, Endercio (Margie) Chapa Jr and David Chapa, nine grandchildren; Marcos Mendez, Marivel Mendez DeLeon, Mariza Mendez Robinson, Briana Nunez Lyssy, Karina Nunez, Salina Chapa, Claudia Chapa, Isabella Chapa and Clayton Chapa, eight great-grandchildren; Adrian, Zeke and Ezra Mendez, Rocky and Jack Robinson, Ava, Oliva and Augie DeLeon and Ella Lyssy.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and loved ones. Visitation will be Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 4-6 PM at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers. Rosary will be Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 7 PM at St. George Catholic Church in George West.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 10 AM at St. George Catholic Church in George West. Pallbearers will be Roberto Tovar, Ruben Laso, Manuel Chapa, Christobal Gonzalez, Jr., Ignacio Gonzalez, Jr. and Pablo Laso III. Honorary pallbearers are Carlos Laso, Orlando, Laso, Daniel Laso, Rogelio Laso Jr and Jose Gilberto Tovar.

Burial will follow at the St. George Catholic Cemetery. Services entrusted to Roberson Funeral Home, Three Rivers To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Marta L. Chapa please visit our Sympathy Store.
