Obituary for Martha Bremer Martha Bremer, age 86, of Ocheyedan, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at South Shore Care Center in Worthington, Minnesota. Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, Horton Township, rural Ocheyedan, Iowa. Rev.

Richard Milbrandt officiating. Burial to follow at the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Ocheyedan, Iowa. Visitation will be Saturday, prior to the Funeral Service, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:45 P.M. with the family present from 12:00 to 12:45 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, Horton Township, rural Ocheyedan.

Martha Bremer was born on October 14, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Oscar and Lillian (Brown) Mc Clain.

She lived her youth in Mt. Pleasant where she attended a country school until the 8th grade and then attended Mt. Pleasant Haylong High School, where she graduated.

She was united in marriage to Allen Bremer of Ocheyedan, Iowa on July 21, 1953 in Corinth, Mississippi. They met while Allen was in the Army. They started their married life on a farm in Horton Township.

After the births of their children, they moved to Bigelow, Minnesota where they owned and operated Al’s Highway Café for a few years. They moved back to Horton Township to the family farm in 1968 where they farmed. Martha was a homemaker and an Avon lady for 30 years.

Allen, Martha and girls enjoyed many family vacations to Tennessee and site seeing the surrounding areas. Allen passed away in May of 1985. Martha continued to live on the farm until 2006 when she moved into Ocheyedan.

She moved to The Meadows in Worthington in the fall of 2015. She was well known as “Nana” to many people and to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren which she cherished. Martha was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Horton Township, rural Ocheyedan, where she was involved in Ladies Aid and a member of the Legion Auxiliary.

She was also a member of the Just For Fun Club in Ocheyedan for over 60 years. She passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at South Shore Care Center in Worthington, Minnesota. Those left to cherish her memories are three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Perry Hoefker of Clear Lake, IA and their children, Josh Hoefker and Nikki Hoefker; Tammy and Wayne Ling of Worthington, MN and their children, Eric Ling, Tracy Ling and Kelsey (Tony) Vetsch; Deb and Brad Strandberg of Round Lake, MN and their children, Kourtney (Jared) Smith and their children, Grayson Smith and Mia Smith, Randi (Brandon) Colby and daughter, Lainey Colby; one brother, Paul (Kay) Mc Clain of Mt.

Pleasant, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen; granddaughter, Karlie Strandberg; brother, Oscar Mc Clain, Jr.; 4 sisters, Eleanor Gibson, Melba Rountree, Jean Durrenberger, twin sister, Mary Kelley and special friend, Gordy Wilson.
