Martha Clanton Bell April 28, 1940 – February 24, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book Martha Clanton Bell, 78, passed away peacefully at Novant Forsyth Medical Center on Sunday, 24, 2019. She was born in Wilkes County, NC on April 28, 1940; daughter of the late Charlie Raymond Clanton and Dorothy Clanton, and was a longtime member of Flat Rock Baptist Church and was a devoted and loving grandmother to her loving grandchildren. Mrs. Bell retired from Yadkin Valley Telephone Company and Centel Telephone company after many years of service.

Survivors include her husband; Hugh Miller Bell, son; Darren Hugh Bell (Karen), grandchildren; Brandon Hugh Bell, Joshua Darren Bell, Kallie Nicole Bell and step-granddaughter; Kayla Glennette White, sister in laws; Judy Clanton and Margaret Bryant (Charles G.), brother in law: Luther Bell (Jeanette) and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother; Darrell Clanton, two sisters; Audrey Munday and Gail Handy. A celebration of life service will be conducted on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Gentry Funeral Chapel with Dr. Joey Tomlin officiating.

Burial will follow in Flat Rock Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Flat Rock Baptist Church, PO Box 267, Hamptonville, NC 27020.
