Obituary for Ms. Martha Louise McGhee Ms. Martha Louise McGhee, age 93, departed this life on Monday, May 14, 2018. She was born in Durham County to the late James and Flonnie McGhee. Ms. McGhee was a graduate of Berry O’Kelly High School and Durham Tech.

She worked many years at John Umstead Hospital until her retirement. Martha joined church at an early age. She had a profound love for her church and she loved singing in the Senior Choir and doing missionary work.

She also loved the children at church and she usually had treats in her pocketbook for them. Martha was preceded in death by her sisters, Flora B. Burroughs (Watson), Floria M. Glen (Charles), and a brother James E. McGhee. Ms. McGhee is survived by a sister; Ruth Hooker (Jennie); four nephews; one great nephew; four nieces; cousins Cora and Jessie Chavis; and a special dear friend, Naomi.
