Ancramdale, NY – Martin B. “Marty” Stickle, 73, of Route 82, passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY on Sunday, April 29, 2018. He was born on August 8, 1944 in Gt. Barrington, MA the son of Robert C. and Gladys C. (Bryant) Stickle.

Marty was a heavy machine operator for Ancram Construction Co. in Ancram, NY. His greatest love was having his family around him and enjoying all their picnics. He loved cars and was an avid deer hunter.

On August 27, 1989 in Copake, NY he married Linda (Boyles) Stickle. She survivors him at home. In addition to his loving wife Linda, survivors include his daughter, Tammy Rueger of Ancramdale, NY; step-son, John Oakley of Ancramdale, NY; five grandchildren, Devon Rueger, Candice Rueger, Elizabeth Houle, Jennifer and Jessica Oakley; a great grandson, Noah Proper.

He was also survived by two sisters, Sally Millius of Cary, NC; Patty Fish of Tularosa, NM; and a brother, Robert Stickle of Craryville, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Sandy Blass and a step-son, Dale Oakley on August 11, 1989. There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Union Cemetery in Ancram, NY with Vicar Jackie Jefferson officiating. A reception will follow at the Ancram Fire Company. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church 923 County Rte.
