OBITUARY Marvin Jerry Bryant January 29, 1950 – January 5, 2019 Marvin Jerry Bryant, of South Charlotte, entered this life on January 29, 1950, in Charlotte, NC, and passed away at his home on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Jerry graduated from Independence High School in 1968 and spent his working career as a gate agent starting with Piedmont Airlines and via mergers, retired from American Airlines after 37 years. He had a lifetime passion for anything aeronautic.

He was married to Vickie Switzer Bryant on September 19, 1992. Jerry was predeceased by his grandparents, Oscar and Cora Byrum, and Clem and Betty Bryant, and also his father, Jerome “Jake” Bryant. He is lovingly survived by his mother, Lucille Byrum Bryant; his sister, Sissy (Tony) Bryant Goldsmith; and his children, Heidi (Shannon) Bryant Jaremko Pawlak, and Marvin Kyle Bryant.

Also, by his grandchildren, Emma and Myles Jaremko; and his extended family of in-laws, coworkers, friends, Precious, and cats. All affections were mutual with Jerry. He was the kind of person that once you met him, you knew him as a loyal friend.

A memorial service will be held at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 2817 Mt. Harmony Church Road, Matthews, NC 28105, at 1PM Wednesday, January 9, 2019, officiated by Dr. H. W. “Buddy” Pigg.

The family will receive friends at the church an hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church at the above address, or to the Vickie Bryant Animal Rescue Fund at (Jack) Miller Animal Hospital, 10638 Monroe Rd, Matthews, NC 28105.
