Marvin’s Obituary Marvin Wayne Barnette was born April 6, 1938, in McCrory, Arkansas to Wayne Marvin and Ellie Mae (Lindsey) Barnette and went to be with his Lord on Monday, December 24, 2018, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years, 8 months, and 18 days. Wayne was raised and attended school in Augusta, Arkansas. After graduation he joined the US Army and served 2 years in Bangor, Maine.

Wayne came home and joined the US Air Force and served 2 years in Spain, where he learned to speak Spanish fluently. Wayne made his home in Huron, South Dakota with Uncle Hugh Lindsey and learned to sell life insurance. He was a top notch, well respected insurance agent and had won many awards.

In 1961, Wayne met and married the love of his life, Ellie (Ella) Lane in Huron, South Dakota. From this union was born two sons, Todd Derick and Troy William Barnette. The marriage dissolved after 25 years but Wayne and Ellie remained steadfast friends always.

They moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1986 where he worked in the oilfield and various jobs, and later managed Genesis car wash. Wayne enjoyed music, dancing, gardening, fishing, visiting, and was a generous man. Wayne is survived by two sons, Todd and Troy Barnette both of Reno, Nevada; Ellie Barnette of Watertown, South Dakota; and three brothers, Milburn Barnette and wife, Pat of Augusta, Arkansas, Kenneth Barnette and wife, Pat of Brennan, South Dakota, Billie Barnette and wife, Bobby Jo of West Marion, Arkansas and Hugh Lindsey and wife, Georgia of Huron, South Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Ellie Barnette.
