Westfield-Mary A. Gwozdz, 99, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at home. She was born in Chicopee on October 18, 1918 to the late Martin and Anna (Gula) Gwozdz. She was a 1936 graduate of Chicopee High School.

She attended Springfield Business Institute. She worked for Stanley Home Products for 42 years in the accounting and stock dept. and retired in 1985.

She was an avid member of the Westfield Y.M.C.A for 30 years and enjoyed the pool aerobics, and was a member of the century club. Mary received a computer science certificate from Westfield State University in 2012. A special thanks to the Baystate Hospice and all of Mary’s caregivers Richard and Kimberly Kos and Michael, Robyn and Daniel Oleksak.

Mary leaves her cousins. Michael Oleksak and his wife Robyn of Westfield, Marilyn Oleksak of CA, Richard, John, Michael and Kimberly Kos all of Westfield, her brother Paul Czeczot of Chicopee and was pre-deceased by her brothers Henry and Edwin Czeczot. A funeral Mass for Mary will be held on Tuesday June 19 at 10 am in Holy Trinity Church.

Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Chicopee. A calling hour will be held prior to her funeral Mass on Tuesday morning from 8:30am till 9:30am at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Westfield Y.M.C.A, 67 Court Street, Westfield MA 01085.
