Barrett, 96, of Elmwood Park, passed away on Saturday March 9th, 2019. She was born and raised in Newark, N.J. Devoted wife of the late William E., loving mother of Bill and his wife Diane and Patricia Ann Krysinski and her husband Richard J., Proud grandmother of Kevin Barrett and his wife Kelly, Erin Barrett and her partner Jim, James Krysinski and his wife Jessica, Kathleen Krysinski and her partner Jose. Devoted to her faith and the church, she made many endeavors to the Archdiocese of Newark.

Dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary and Family. She was always thoughtful, generous, giving; she cared more for others than herself. She was the president of the St. Joseph’s Rosary Society in Newark, her home parish for many years.

She is also a member of the St. Leo’s Rosary Society in Elmwood Park. She worked in Haynes Department Store in Newark as a bookkeeper, Es catholic High School as a secretary to Monsignor Welsh and also a secretary at Our Lady of Sorrow School in Garfield. She loved all kinds of dogs and spoiled them with treats.

She had an excellent memory for dates, appointments and often had to remind others who were younger than herself. When her grandchildren were younger, she often babysat and did it lovingly, even if they did get in trouble once in a while. She lobed to knit and make many beautiful baby blankets for women who were pregnant.

Funeral Friday 8:30 a.m. from the Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, Inc., 274 Market Street, Elmwood Park. Funeral Mass St. Leo’s R.C. Church, Elmwood Park 9:30 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
