Obituary for Mary E. Johnson Cedar Falls – Mary E. Johnson, age 100, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Chicago, IL, died Saturday, September 1, at Deery Suites of Western Home Communities. Mary was born in Earlville, on June 17, 1918, the daughter of Frank and Mae (Blum) Rogers. She graduated from Earlville High School.

She worked as a waitress and then assistant manager at The Brokers Inn Restaurant for 25 years, until her retirement in 1984. On February 25, 1984, she married Eugene Johnson in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2015.

Survived by: two sons, Roger Garbers of Plymouth, IN, and Robert Lemon of Denver, CO; her grandchildren, Roger Garbers Jr. of Plymouth, IN, Taylor Lemon and Kenedy Lemon of Denver, CO, and Amelie Lemon of New Orleans, LA. Preceded in death by: her husband, her brother, Bud Rogers, and her sister, Vivian Crane. Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday, September 4 at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

Visitation will be at 10am at the church. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the church.
