LAVERY CHARTRAND ALARIO FUNERAL HOME 99 SUMMER ST. FITCHBURG, MA OBITUARY NOTICE Fitchburg: Mary E. (Pelletier) Dunbar, 95 of Fitchburg, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at Health Alliance Leominster Hospital Monday evening. She was born November 8, 1923 in Fitchburg, MA, daughter of Edmond and Mary (Manning) Pelletier.

She lived all of her life in Fitchburg. Mary worked forty years at the former Independent Lock Co. in Fitchburg, MA and over ten years at SAY Industries in Leominster, MA before her retirement in 1988. Mary had also acted as an Air Raid coordinator in South Fitchburg during W W 2.

She was a women of great faith, and practiced her faith daily, saying the rosary and going to church often. She was a member of the Order of Hibernias and St. Joseph Drill Team in her early years, and was a Boy Scout Leader. She was well known for her hand made Christening gowns for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and loved to crochet .

Mary was most happy when spending time with her family, extended family and her friends. She was an active member of the former Sacred Heart Church and currently a member of St. Bernard Parish. She is survived by her children, William J. Dunbar of Fitchburg, MA, David A. Dunbar and wife Katie of Townsend, MA.

Marlene J. Frechette, Christine A. Grenier and Nettie E. Sears all of Fitchburg, MA, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her very close friend for many years, Yolanda Celuzza. She was predeceased by her husband of sixty-three years Joseph H. Dunbar in 2008, her granddaughter Keri , her great grandson Philip and siblings Edmond ,Richard, and Rita Pelletier. Her funeral will be held on Friday February 1,2019, with a Mass @ 10a.m. in St. Bernard Parish @ St. Camillus Church 333 Mechanic St. Fitchburg, MA , with Interment to follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday evening from 5 until 7p.m. . All are welcome to attend. Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN,38105-9959.
