Mary Elizabeth Hobby, age 93 of Belfast died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at NHC Lewisburg. Mrs. Hobby was a native of Russellville, Kentucky, and she was the daughter of the late Roscoe Owen and Nannie Bell Poor Hughes. She was of Baptist faith and was the former Belfast Postmaster.

Preceded in death by her husband, Guy Hobby in 2003, she is survived by her daughter, Gayle (John) Cook of Belfast, grandson, Matt (Meghan) Cathey of Spartanburg, South Carolina, granddaughter, Lee (Adam) Perryman of Lewisburg, great granddaughters, Paige Fuller and Abbie Perryman, sister in law, Ann Hughes of Evansville, Indiana, three step grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Round Hill cemetery in Belfast, Tn. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
