Mary Jeanette Gourley Pruitt, 89, widow of Roy Ray Gourley, passed away on May 21, 2019. A native of Bryson City, NC, daughter of the late Andrew and Sally Queen Cline, she was a retired employee of Union Carbide and attended Genoble Road Church of God of Prophecy. She was a strong woman of Christian faith and witnessed every opportunity.

She loved her family and instilled in her children and grandchildren strong values. She will be dearly missed and forever loved in our hearts. Surviving are one son, Billy Ray Gourley of Woodruff; two daughters, Loretta Fisher (Larry) and Vivian Gourley Forrester (John) all of Greer; two sisters, Amanda Davis of Doylestown, Ohio and Tela Dot King of Athens, GA; six grandchildren, Julie Minter of Sarasota, FL, Jane Gourley of Spartanburg, Trina Hostetler (Mark) of Greer, Marty Fisher (Tina) of Greer, Chuck Forrester (Wanda) of Greer and Chris Forrester (Hollie) of Lyman; sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Pruitt was predeceased by two brothers, Sebie Cline and Perb Cline and two sisters, Edna Wiggins and Irene Bradley. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2019 at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Keith Kelly and Preacher Mack Holloway.

Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Marty Fisher, Chuck Forrester, Chris Forrester, Tad Forrester, Luke Hostetler and Logan Hostetler. Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
