Obituary for Mary Grace McHugh Funeral Mass for Mary Grace McHugh, 87, of Wickliffe, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave. , Wickliffe. Mrs. McHugh passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018, at her residence.

Born Sept. 9, 1930, in Scranton, Pa. , she had lived in Cleveland before moving to Lake County 62 years ago.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Wickliffe, where she was also a member of the Evangelization Committee and Summer Festival Committee of the church. Grace also was a member of the Irish American Club-East Side Inc. in Euclid, where she was on the Ladies Drill Team, a member of the Mayo Society, an active member of the Euclid YMCA for 19 years, and a Hospice volunteer for five years. She loved to garden, help others, and take care of her dog, Cody.

Grace was a role model for so many. Mrs. McHugh had worked as an executive secretary at C.I.T. Financial for 21 years, prior to her retirement. She was the dear sister-in-law of Margaret Gilgallon; and also leaves many Godchildren, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Grace was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo; daughter of the late Patrick H. and Helen (nee Gilboy) Gilgallon; and siblings, Michael Desmond (Toni) (Kathryn) Gilgallon and Joseph Patrick Gilgallon. Family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church prior to the Mass. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave. , Wickliffe, OH 44092, or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave. , Cleveland, OH 44110.
