Obituary for Mary Haugen Mary Haugen (the former Mary Daly), 76 of Howell, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Preferred Care Center, in Wall, New Jersey Born Saturday, December 6, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of William Higgins and Catherine Lanigan Higgins. A legal secretary for many years for the Federal Government, Mary treasured her free time gardening, tending to her roses. A devout catholic Mary never missed a mass.

A true animal lover Mary also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, and could always be found with a cigarette and cup of coffee with her french vanilla creamer. But more than life itself Mary devoted her time to her children and grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of Melvin Haugen.

Loving mother of Michael Daly, Tommy Daly and Kerry Anne Malvino. Dear sister of William Higgins. Cherished grandmother of Stephanie, Mason, JayeAnne, Richard, Thomas, Rileigh, Ravyn, Madison, Joseph, and Logan, and great grandmother of Anastacia and Hayliegh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:45 AM on Wednesday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
