OBITUARY Mary Irene Ayers August 9, 1930 – October 17, 2018 Irene (Gorby) Ayers, 88, of Coshocton, passed away surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Irene was born in Middlebourne, WV on August 9, 1930 to the late Claude and Agnes (Hill) Gorby. After high school, she went West Liberty College for Dental Hygiene, graduating in the class of 1950.

Irene worked for many years as a Dental Hygienist with Dr. McConnell and Dr. Dunlap. Irene was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coshocton and was a very active member. Irene was also a member of the Coshocton Historical Club, Eastern Star, and American Baptist Womens.

On July 29, 1950, Irene married John Ayers, her husband of 65 years who preceded her in death in December of 2015. Irene is survived by two children, John (Kris) Ayers and Elizabeth Schott, seven grandchildren: Haylee (Ian) Rice, Michael (Libby) Schott, Stephanie (Joe) Shea rs, Kimberlyn Schott, Shannon (Josh) Boyce, Amanda Keener, and Cory (Crystal) Cabe; 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Calling hours for Irene will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joe Sanders officiating.

Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in Irene’s name to the First Baptist Church of Coshocton at 618 Chestnut St. Coshocton, OH 43812.
