Obituary for Mrs. Mary Jane Mitchell Mrs. Mary Jane Mitchell, 88, passed away Tuesday evening, May 29, 2018. She was born July 27, 1929 to Albert and Mary (Sidock) Pryzbylek in Chicago, IL, and moved to the Muskegon area as a child. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, was a former member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, and was currently attending Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

She had been employed as a loan officer at Central Paper Credit Union before retiring. She enjoyed ceramics and crafts, golf and cross country skiing. On August 22, 1953 Mary Jane married the love of her life, Elmo Mitchell, and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2011.

She will be greatly missed by her loving family; 5 children: Geralyn (Phillip) Merkey, Lorraine (Ray) Fyalka, Suszanne Mitchell, Albert (Marci) Mitchell, Michael (Jennifer) Mitchell; 12 grandchildren: Caitlyn (Andrew) Best, Meghan (Dane Hanrahan) Merkey, Brandon (Jennifer) Hess, Jacob Hess, Aubrey (Dimitri) Apostle, Nicole (Lee) VanderWest, Sarah (Torry) Names, Grace (Robert) Tucker, Cameron Mitchell, Kelsey Mitchell, Gage Mitchell, Madison Mitchell; 11 great grandchildren: Nathan, Matilda, Peter, Chase, Nora, Maverick, Alyssa, Logan, Chloe, Gunnar and Lily; in-laws: Benita (Bill) Mikesell, Bernadette Jacobson, Connie Pryzbylek , Kathy Pryzbylek, and Mary Lanciaux. She will be missed by her friend Thea Marko. She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson: Brecken Names; 3 brothers, Robert, James and Richard Pryzbylek.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, June 4, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 will be Sunday, June 3, from 2-5 pm. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.
