Funeral services for Mary Jane Johnson, 93, of Brazoria will be Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Brazoria with Pastor Booker T. Randon eulogizing and Pastor Gene Grear officiating. Burial will follow at Galilee Cemetery in Brazoria, Texas. She passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at her residence.

She was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the usher board and women’s mission until her health failed. She loved reading her bible, fishing, bingo, garage sales, shopping and baking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hattie Mack; father, Lannie Moore; several sisters and brothers; husband, George Johnson; daughter, Judy Godley; grandsons, Jadari Mercer and David Williams, Jr., granddaughter, Lisa Johnson and son-in-law, John D. Petteway, Sr She leaves to cherish her precious memories; son, Clint Johnson (Sherry), Brazoria; daughters, Georgia Petteway, Cedar Lake, Linda Thomas (John), Brenda Williams (David) and Joan Grear (Gene) all of Brazoria and Jacqueline Mercer (Darry), Pearland; sisters, Rebecca Grice (Nathaniel) and Elizabeth Godley both of Brazoria; brothers, William Harriest and Randolph Mack (Gladys) both of Brazoria; sister-in-law, Fannie Nickles, Kansas City, Missouri; 23 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 23 great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be Kelvin Grear, James Godley, John Godley, Jermaine Johnson, John E. Petteway, Dominique Petteway, Jarvis Woodard and Clovis Mitchell.

Visitation will be Friday, January 11, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria. A viewing will also be on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Galilee Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. There will be no viewing afterwards. Final arrangements entrusted to Dixon Funeral Home of Brazoria at (979) 798-9113.
