Mary L. Pugh, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, in the Northside Hospital, Atlanta, GA. She was born in Greenville, AL, on June 11, 1938, a daughter of the late Algie and Lodelle [Kent] Maye. Mrs. Pugh moved to Niagara Falls with her family in 1952s and graduated from Niagara Falls High School and the Sawyer Business School.

She was employed with various businesses in the city over the years. Mrs. Pugh became an ordained Deaconess on April 26, 2009 and was an active member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and sang with many church choirs.

She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing Bingo and fishing. She was the widow of Earl F. Pugh, Sr., who passed away in March of 2014 and the late Wilbert Hayes, Sr Mrs. Pugh is survived by her children Wilbert Hayes, Jr., Earl F. (Sheri) Pugh, Jr., Annie N. Hayes, Wilma (Brian) Claar, Janet Hayes, Teresa (Richard) Chappell and Yulanda (Corbin) Rankin, a special son Reginald Myles, a brother Joseph (Linda) Maye, a sister Dorothy Simmons, also 27 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

She was the mother of the late Gloria Hayes, Stephanie L. Pugh, Annie J. Hayes, grandmother of the late Joshua Hayes, Jamaul James and Nakeecha Hayes and the sister of the late Jimmy Dee, Mary O. Smith, Sarah L. Allen and Marie (Robert) Anderson. Her family will be present on Wednesday, from 6-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, NIAGARA FALLS, NY and on Thursday from 11-12:00 PM at New Jerusalem Revival Center, 2723 20th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, with Home Going Services to follow at 12:00 PM. Interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
