Mary’s Obituary Mary Lee Wood McEntee was born June 22, 1928, in Ovalo, Texas, to Thomas Aron Wood and Bessie Lee Riddle Wood, and passed away February 5th, 2019, in Garland, Texas, at the age of 90. She lived in Rowlett, Texas, most of her life with her husband, Larry McEntee, whom she married in 1949. They had three daughters.

Larry McEntee preceded her in death in 1998. Both of her parents and two brothers also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands – Vickie and Larry Graham of Merit, Kay and Bill Zachary of Rowlett and Kathy and Richard Manuel of Heath.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She met Larry McEntee while on a blind double date. They were not the matchups on that particular date, but quickly rectified that.

They both enjoyed dancing and did so, after that first “non-date,” to the Debonair Danceland off what is now IH30 and Grand Avenue. Mary worked outside the home at Scholle Corp for several years and assisted her husband for many years in his John Deere and Schwinn dealership on the square in downtown Garland, which later moved to Rowlett. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, February 8th, 2019, at Williams Funeral Home.

Grave-side service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 9th, 2019 at Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, located at 3900 Rowlett Road, Rowlett, Texas.
