Obituary for Mary Lou Flora Mary Lou Flora, 79, of Summitville, passed away on October 28, 2018 at her residence. She was born on February 14, 1939 in Crawfordsville. She served her country in the United States Air Force, playing in the WAF Band, where she enjoyed playing her clarinet and her saxophone and she retired from Independent Federal Credit Union in 1998 after 32 1/2 years of service.

Mary Lou was the clown named “Troubles” with Smiles Unlimited. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, and she played in the Alexandria Community Band. .

She formed a German band while in Florida. She enjoyed needle point and cross stitching. Mary Lou is survived by her son, Keith (Marsha) Barnes; grandchildren, Cade (Haley) Barnes, Colton Barnes, Kerby Barnes; great-granddaughter, Avery Jade Barnes; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Flora; mother, Thelma Hastaday; father, Owen Hastaday; and her sisters, Maxine Bushong, and Brenda McCormick. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2018, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson. Services will be at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at the funeral home, with Rev.

Gary Klinger officiating. Cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 5635 W. 96th Street Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN, 46278.
