Well, after 91 years the old goat finally kicked the bucket. Mary Louise Neubert Barksdale entered this world on August 28, 1927 and left this world on September 16, 2018. She leaves to mourn her passing oldest daughter Debbie Cochran (the prude), middle child Sally Madsen (the wild one) and her very favorite youngest child, precious little Billy Barksdale, the one who could never do any wrong.
Mary could be called a lot of things – stubborn, cantankerous, obstinate, feisty ornery and… Read More » outspoken. Some might even have called her sweet. Mom was loved by her many friends, co-workers, neighbors and acquaintances.
She was tolerated by just a few. She loved and was cherished by her 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was playing bridge with a bunch of other old ladies.
We imagine they are laughing together now. Before she used a walker, she played a lot of golf. Mom was one of the sharpest pencils in the box.
She retained her memory and her sense of humor up to the very end. We intend to honor her by doing the same. Debbie, Sally, Bill stop that right now!
You don’t want me to tell this to your father, do you? THAT’S ALL FOLKS! !
