Obituary for Robert A. Deitz Robert A. Deitz, 83, passed away September 5, 2018 at his home in Carthage, MO. Robert was born July 4, 1935 to Albert and Jessie “Marsden” Deitz in Carthage. Robert worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation for 42 years.

He was also in the Missouri National Guard’s 203 Battalion for 27 years. Robert was a charter member of Budlong Christian Church and currently a member of Fairview Christian Church. Robert was united in marriage to Barbara “Gregory” on July 1, 1957 at the Budlong Christian Church in Carthage; she survives.

Robert is also survived by his children, Cindy Etris (Dean) of Joplin, Allen Deitz (Wendy) of Carthage and Liliana Cano of Carthage; one brother, Jerry Deitz of Tulsa; seven grandchildren, Geremy Etris, Joshua Etris, Shelby Deitz, Amelia Guinn, Hayden Guinn, Luisa Castaneda and Jose Castaneda; two great grandchildren, Nova Etris and Maverick Etris. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Jim Deitz; two sisters, Doris Phelps and Betty Heisten. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Park Cemetery in Carthage.
