Mary Louise Cancro, age 78, of Whiting, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 surrounded by her beloved nieces and nephews at Atlantic Coast Rehabilitation in Lakewood. Born in Jersey City on April 7, 1940, she lived there and Old Bridge prior to moving to Whiting in 1985 where she joined the Crestwood Village IV Safety Patrol. Mary was employed as a payroll manager for Anchor Concrete, Brick for many years until retiring.

Mary was predeceased by the love of her life; her loving husband, Paul J. Cancro. Mary was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt and truly loved by all that knew her. She loved spending time with her family and her late beloved beagles, Snoopy and PJ.

Mary enjoyed her retirement with her friends celebrating life on Cruise Ships. She was also predeceased by her loving parents, Theodore George and Louise Brinkofski, Sr. and her adored brother Theodore George Brinkofski, Jr. Mary is survived by her loving brother, Stephen Charles Brinkofski, Sr. and his wife Deborah; her beloved sister and best friend, Kathleen Hemmerly and her husband, Robert; and dear sister-in-law, Ann Brinkofski. Mary loved her 41 nieces and nephews as her own and she is survived by her Niece and Goddaughter, Doreen Harris and her husband David; her nephew and Godson, Stephen Charles Brinkofski, Jr., and her nephew and Godson, Robert Hemmerly; and nieces and nephews, Debbie Gyles-Brinkofski and wife Gayle; Diane Caro and husband Steven; Theodore George Brinkofski, III; Lynn Marie Hayes; Michael Brinkofski; Mark Hemmerly and wife Laurie; Adam Hemmerly and wife Kerrie.

She is also survived by many loving great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Mary is also survived by her special angel; Linda Boose and dear roommate Marguerite “Peggy” LoveJoy. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mary’s name to the ALS Association, www.
