Mary’s Obituary Mary Catherine O’Donnell of North Andover, formerly of Hanover, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on February 26, 2019. Born on July 16, 1936, Mary was the daughter of the late Mary (Snyder) and Walter Gehr. Former wife of Frank O’Donnell of Florida and devoted mother to Catherine Moore and husband Daniel of N. Andover, Thomas O’Donnell and wife Erin of Pembroke, and Anne Lyons and husband Michael of Apex, NC.

Mary’s grandchildren where the pride of her life. Mema, as they affectionately called her, will always be remembered by grandchildren, Meghan Milisi and husband Frank, Brendan Moore, Cayla Moore, Daniel O’Donnell, Michael O’Donnell, Kyle Moore and Caroline O’Donnell. She delighted in her great- grandchildren Colby, Teddy and Charlie.

Also, survived by her brothers Donald Gehr of Crown Point, IN and James Gehr and Linda Marquette of Crown Point, IN as well as many nieces and nephews. She was a loving and kind person known for her generosity, sense of humor and love of socializing. Her strength and determination were inspiring.

She was an avid reader who also loved dinners out with family, a good box of chocolates and her favorite show Jeopardy. Mary dedicated her life to her family and was the happiest when everyone was together. She especially loved her role as Mema and adored her grandchildren.

She could often be heard from the sidelines of their games routing for one of her favorite players. She relished in each of their accomplishments. Someone so special can never be forgotten and although she will be dearly missed, her legacy will live on in all the lives she touched.

Thank you to the wonderful staff of Lahey Hospital for all of the love and care they provided to Mary over the past 10 years. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St. Rte. 53, Hanover, will be held on Saturday, March 2nd from 8:30am — 9:45 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St. Rte.

139, Hanover, at 10:00am.
