Mary R. Hurd, 87, of Punxsutawney, and a native of Rossiter, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center. Mary was born April 5, 1931 in Rossiter to the late Elmer and Mary Ann (Pitzerell) Carcella. In 1974 she was preceded in death by her husband Jack St. Clair Hurd.

They were married January 20, 1951. Mary worked at Cameron Factory in Reynoldsville for most of her life. She loved to travel and spend time with her great granddaughter whom she adored.

She is survived by her loving daughter;Catherine Brosius-Bair and husband Russell of Punxsutawney. Two grandsons; Jeffrey Brosius and wife Jessica and Joseph Brosius. One great granddaughter; Jemma Brosius.

Two brothers; James Carcella of DuBois, Richard Carcella and wife Sandy of Downington, three sisters; twin sister Rose Chiedor of Greensburg, Betty Saiani and husband Bruno of Latrobe, Diane Hallman of Punxsutawney along with many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. In addition to her husband Jack, she was preceded in death by one brother; John Carcella and sister in law; Irene Carcella. Friends will be received from 3-7 PM Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

Interment will be in the Resurrection Cemetery in Rossiter.
