Mary Rose Blondell, 96, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday May 12, 2019 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Friday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in McCarthy Hall at the church.

Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Mary Rose was born on September 18, 1922 in Rock Island, the daughter of Gaetano and Giovana Tagliarini Marchese. She married Charles Blondell on June 15, 1946 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1989.

Mrs. Blondell had been employed in the office at Land O Lakes Dairy, Rock Island for 22 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island and had been active with the Altar and Rosary Society. Mary Rose loved being with her family and reading.

Survivors include her children, Dennis (Lee Etta) Blondell, Geneseo, Mick Blondell, Davenport, Joni (Mike) Linn, Silvis; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Anthony (Joan) Marchese, Geneseo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brother and sister in law, Carmello and Maxine Marchese; and a daughter in law, Patty Blondell.
