Mary’s Obituary Vienna. Mary V. White, 92, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 13, in Tampa, Fla. , while enroute to her beloved Naples, Fla.
Cause of death was kidney failure aggravated by acute pneumonia. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Elmer Little of Kanawha as well as her husband Ralph White in March of 1979 and her youngest son, Jeff, in April of 2009. Also preceding her were siblings, Lois “Tony” Jackson, Paul “June” Little of Parkersburg and John Little of Cocoa Beach, Fla.
Mary is survived by her son Doug (Terri) of Archibald, La, daughter-in-law Pam White of Naples, Fla. , granddaughters Bailey of Onalaska, Wis. and Maggie (Shawn) of West Monroe, LA.
, as well as 21 month old great granddaughter, and her ‘reason for living’, Ms. Edie Jane of West Monroe, La. In addition, Mary is survived by siblings Chuck Little and Nancy Goodnight, both of Parkersburg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary, as well as her husband Ralph, were both PHS graduates, lifelong Wood County residents, and retired from management in the C and P Telephone company.
After retirement she enjoyed her many years in real estate at the Terry Connolly agency. Mary loved to travel, domestically as well as internationally. She loved her friends, her family, her daily newspaper and crosswords, her church and her Lord, not necessarily in that order.
Visitation will be from 11:00-1:00 on Friday at the Grand Central Church of Christ in Vienna where she was a member of one of the founding families. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at 1:00. Burial will be at Mt.
Olivet Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband and her mother in law, Isa White. Officiating will be Patrick Ward and Joe Spivy. Pallbearers are Steve Jackson, Mike Jackson, Shawn Downhour, Shawn Haynes, Wes Wingrove, and Matt Little.
A special thanks to her recent care givers Bo-Bet King, JoAnn Newbanks, Linda Spitler and Judith Dick. And also heartfelt thanks to special niece, caregiver, chauffer, CPA, and informal advisor, Sandy Haynes, who has gone above and beyond, was driving her to Naples, and was with her til the end. In lieu of flowers, friends can donate to the Grand Central Church of Christ, 5805 Grand Central Ave, Vienna, WV 26105, in Mary’s remembrance.
God told Paul to pen these words in 1 Corinthians 15:55 “O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? ” 57 “But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”.
