Mary “Opal” Daugherty, age 94 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2018. She was born on August 21, 1924 in Williamson County, Tennessee to the late Henry and Elizabeth Lampley. She married Oscar “Blue” Daugherty on August 13, 1940 and they shared 77 years together until his passing on November 04, 2017.

They were longtime members of Temple Baptist Church in Green. Opal is survived by her daughter Reba (Bill) Hodgson; her grandchildren; Steve and his children Anna (Jon) Navarro and Brandt, Cathy (Tim) Johnson and their children, Tyler, Brooke and Drew, Gary “Trev” and his daughter Alyssa, Becky Decker and her son Jake, and a granddaughter-in-law Kim and her daughter Jessica. In addition to her parents and husband, Opal was preceded in death by her eight sisters and her son Lee Theadman and grandsons Bobby Daugherty and Michael Hodgson.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, November 17th at 12:00 pm at The Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Newmans Creek Cemetery.
